it was wierd...my fist vaccine, no symptoms. This one, about 3 hours after the shot, I couldn't keep my eyes open and was like that all day yesterday. Today, back to normal. So thankful for the vaccine. Please every one who is able, get the vaccine when you can!!!

(21,596 posts)BTW, I had the same reaction after my second Pfizer vaccination.
I planned my vaccinations for Fridays so I could rest and sleep.
Our bodies are now stronger and ready to defend against COVID19!

(86,536 posts)I knew I would sleep a lot so I planned for it. Today is the first day I felt clear enough to accomplish a bunch of stuff.
I still had to take a nap a little while ago, though.

(11,591 posts)I'm glad you're feeling better. It hits everyone differently. I just had a very sore arm for several days the first time and very little pain for a day on the second.

And you know what? Two things:
The GOP is crap, so your handle is right on the money.
I can hardly wait to be able to HUG my kids and grandkids again! I have missed my children SO much during this last year.

(6,544 posts)Pfizer - 1st dose, a mildly (and localized) sore arm the day after
2nd dose, fine for about 6 hours, then feeling dropy and sleepy. Next day I was really worn out and really got nothing done but sleep and watch a movie. Next day, however, I felt great!!
WAY worth the minor inconvenience

(14,853 posts)... with a light-headed feeling and a temp of 101 F. (I didn't feel hot, but I checked my temp with two different digital thermometers anyway.)
It was just about the time that I figured that I'd have no side-effects. None of it was terribly bad anyway.
The fatigue then lasted almost a full day, but that was the end of it!
Thanks to all of you who have been similarly vaccinated! It's a team effort!

(19,038 posts)This guy is a good dude, extremely smart, but he's a total right winger politics wise, says FOX News is too far left for him. When the virus hit he was saying it's just the flu and we don't shut the country down for the flu. Then when the vaccine came out he expressed antivax sentiment. But he's fully vaccinated now, not sure what changed his mind, but it's good to see people are relenting.
I fully believe we will get to a number of vaccinated in this country to reach herd immunity. I think we'll get to 75% when vaccines become available to children.

(54,349 posts)Round two is scheduled for May 10. We fly back to Germany on the 15th. If there is a round three, and Germany continues to be hopeless, we will fly back to the States for it. We just read that our town outside Düsseldorf had over 300 new infections over the weekend, a tenfold increase over the usual 27 to 30. The population is about 90,000 and Düsseldorf is about 600,000.
The EU is a hopeless mess, completely unprepared to handle something like this. It was set up as a massive bureaucracy, there to make rules, not serve people. If we have needs that the EU bureaucracy is set up to handle, we get them taken care of. If not, we fly back to America. At least in the States, initiative is not a dirty word.
