your reminder that George W. Bush was an uncaring incurious overgrown smirking frat boy who started two pointless wars, ran torture camps and crashed the world's economy, and only a barrel-bottom shit-stain like Donald Trump can make him seem statesmanlike by comparison

I guess we think we need a rational loyal opposition. Maybe that should be the debate instead of trying to look back on these guys with rose colored glasses.

loyal and lock-step but never rational..George Bush was a moronic dolt but Dick Cheney was the power...the only thing Bush did right was disappear...as for that disgusting sot Boehner, his attempt to reinvent himself collapsed with his Trump vote and his Obama is a racist screed..

He got rolled more than once (MUCH more than once) when he called for a vote on some bill but wound up not having enough votes for passage.

Much has been written and commented upon - regarding strategic Speakership. Such as: you shouldn’t call for a vote if you’re not rock-solid sure you have the votes needed for passage. Boehner got tripped up by that, several times.

As far as I can remember, Nancy Pelosi never has.

...for Bush family political operatives coming down so heavily and publicly on Trump, even to the point of whole GOP taking hits. The secondary motivation being to stop the party from drifting so far into Trumpism that there'd be no future in the party for a Bush no matter how spit polished the image.

When war criminal Bush left office I wrote a poem for what I'd like to say to his face:

I'd tell you to go fuck yourself
But that is much too kind
If you could perform that feat
You'd take pleasure in your behind

I'd like to say eat shit and die
But you deserve much more
You should suffer all the grief and pain
Of your misbegotten war

Though I could never make you think
Or feel, or understand
I'll take solace when you hear your name
Cursed throughout the land

From inside a lonely prison cell
Dark and bare and cold
Where every day you pay for your crimes
Until you're sick, heartbroken, and old

When you finally leave the earth
You fucked over oh so well
If there is a God and afterlife
You're going straight to hell

not fooled

I did not watch the Norah O' Donnell interview on 60 minutes, but it seems he is working hard to repair his image. I wonder if he was asked any questions about his time in office. My first guess is that he was not asked about the things he did while in office.
