She is saying that if the jury finds not guilty we have to keep the foot on the pedal or things will never change. Trials cannot be that fragile and have to be that perfect. I am not a lawyer but it sounds to me like the Judge has a bias. Waters wasn't even talking about the Chauvin trial.

(18,486 posts)People have been expressing their opinions about the trial nonstop? Why should something one Member of Congress - whose district is nowhere near the scene of the crime or the trial - said so influences the jury in a way nothing else that it causes a mistrial?
This is simply a matter of Chauvin's attorney working in tandem with the right-wing Republican crusade against Maxine Waters.

Same as today but as I was scrolling down my FB feed a PBS post appeared (they do rhat at other times for other events) broadcasting the trial and that statement from the prosecutor was what I caught.
