That's true all over the US.

I suspect if Hawaiians need toilet paper with their vaccine they will have to pay for the toilet paper.

But the vaccines are free. Everywhere in the United States.

for them with taxpayer money. To suggest otherwise is to suggest the insured are paying for the uninsured via their premiums. That is not true. I've overheard some ugly comments to that effect lately--particularly toward minorities so I want to correct the record whenever I can.

If a person is insured, their insurance will pay for the vaccine. If they aren't insured, it gets paid directly by the gov't. It works out to a slightly higher reimbursement through insurance. But in either case, the person getting vaxed pays nothing.

That's why you are asked for your insurance numbers when you get an appointment..

9. The insurance portion only pays for a negotiated administration fee. It is not technically paying

for vaccine. I've heard this explained to countless numbers of patients now where I have administered vaccine--both in mass public vaccination events and in pharmacy and hospital-based vaccination clinics.
