brings up the cost of this thing.

I'm better at keeping my balance now, but still manage to take a fall at least once a month. I would have to replace how many parts of the thing, and at what cost, each time I fall?

they're effective at what they're intended to do, insurance companies should be interested in this. In fact, if it works I could see insurers and elder care facilities being required to provide them to people for whom they're prescribed and maybe even insurers offering premium discounts to encourage others who need them to wear them.

Balance issues are, of course, a huge healthcare problem. I can see the day coming for me.

wouldn't be of much use just because their bones are so brittle they can break without much provocation.

On the bike though it's a tether that senses the rider leaving the bike and fires off the CO-2 cartridge. About $600.
