If the former president was still in office now,

He would be moving mountains to have stopped this trial of Chauvin already with threats, installed extreme loyalists and racist's to undermine any accountability for the murder of George Floyd, and incited his extremists groups against anyone protesting for this now. Moscow Mitch wouldn't be saying anything against it either. The GOP are now a racists domestic terrorist group , corrupt, and serial liars welcoming these groups into their party, and by the former president, and promoting more gun violence. Justice has to be returned in this trial, and restored for our country and Democracy to survive, or these fascists win, and we turn into putins russia.

I think many of us would be dead.

Don't call him the "former president" he doesn't deserve that, let's go with the "former guy."

But he probably would have let the trial go forward and if he is found guilty, he would give him a full pardon.

I am not sure of the particulars are validity of it, but there was an article out saying Chauvin wanted to plead guilty to the Lesser of the charges, but Bill Barr wouldn't allow it. I really don't understand how the Attorney General would have had any input at the beginning of this. Maybe it was fake news?
