A bad cop is off the streets and on his way to a very long time in prison for killing a black person.
This will send a message that bad actions by cops have a chance of being punished. But I think with just one, it can be seen as an anomaly. A fluke.
If there is another one, it will get cops' attention. It might cause some of them to rethink their world view or at least their view of being "tough".
When there is a third, cop heads will SNAP toward it. It WILL have an impact of a serious nature.
While I hope there will be no more dead black people at the hands of cops, I am sure this verdict has the capacity to start a trend.
At least I hope so.

The three officers with Chauvin face trial later this summer. Wonder if they'll plead guilty now. Chauvin was convicted of a felony murder charge, and those three are accomplices.
I suspect the officer who killed Daunte Wright might plead out to avoid a trial.
Long overdue make up call, but the call was easy to make, and it didn't make up for anything.
