...were coming out to speak, and the commentator on CNN just HAD to speak over Harris' first sentence telling us "here come the President and Vice President now..."
REALLY? Do you think anyone watching CNN at 7PM didn't know who the f* they were??????????

You must be unfamiliar with NBC's Olympic coverage. People on TV just like to hear themselves talk.

That's the only reason I can think of, other than that they are called commentators, and maybe they're worried if they stop talking, their salaries will be cut.

(67,782 posts)9. The most pleasant sporting event I ever saw was a game between the NY Jets and Miami Dolphins....
It was an experiment by NBC, the last game of the season - NO play by play, just the stadium noise and cheering. It was great.
