(7,593 posts)Minnesota's sentencing guidelines for someone convicted for 2nd degree Murder and with no prior criminal history call for a 120-180 month sentence, with that split 2/3 imprisonment and 1/3 community supervision. The lesser included charges will not add to a sentence.
The judge may decide to depart with sentencing guidelines, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

(12,182 posts)I still find it very low for taking someone's life. Especially so obviously and deliberately.
I knew the lesser-included charges wouldn't add time, and I'm a bit on the fence about including them at all. There are reasons both pro and con.
