you are baked soon too and don't notice the stink as much. My dispensary had good deals today and it was so loud I could hardly hear the budmaster. I could smell it through my mask. I think they should get a big vent/fan to blow the smoke out to the sidewalk like cinnamon bun places do to attract customers.

Thank you. I was a freshman in college in 1978. I'd say about 94% of the students at that college got high. The other 6% weren't people you wanted to hang out with.

I assumed by the time I was middle aged that it would be legal, or we were all be complete hypocrites.

I, for one, took Senator Schumer at face value.. he's wishing us a Happy 420.. no strings attached.

Also it's the Day that Derek Chauvin was found Guilty & Perp walked out of the Courtroom.

I'm noticing that angle is starting to come up in coverage of police overkill. White supremacists having invaded and embedded in police departments all over the country. It started years ago. I think perhaps we've been seeing the results for quite awhile by now. I mean - how many incidents of white-cop-kills-black-civilian have we had by now - since Michael Brown, for example? Or heck, since Rodney King?

I sure hope this is the beginning of the END of THAT.

11. Why, Sen Schumer! The Real Origin of 420

According to Steve Bloom, an editor at High Times magazine, the term 420 originated at San Rafael High School in 1971.

A group of about a dozen people who called themselves the Waldos met up to smoke marijuana at 4:20 pm every day. Rather than announce they were going to get high, they used the code "420."

Apparently, the term spread, and it became a way for restaurants and businesses to let customers know that they were "420 friendly." Over the years, its origins were lost, but the "code" stuck. April 20th (aka 4/20) eventually became known as Weed Day or Pot Smokers Day, and people all over frequently gather and smoke marijuana together to celebrate the day.

Got started in Nam. In '69. Quit in '80....I was an elementary school teacher, and couldn't afford to lose my career. Started again about 6-7 years ago, and now I enjoy brownies and an occasional toke below the border.

that up. It used to even say it on their buses, and someone sent a picture to High Times years ago and they printed it. That was about the time you started hearing 4:20 as our happy hour/s.
