"I just felt like the prosecution made a really good, strong argument. Dr. Tobin was the one that really did it for me. He explained everything. I understood it down to where he said this is the moment that he lost his life, really got to me," she replied.
During the 13 days of sometimes tense and emotional testimony and cross-examination, both the prosecution and defense promised the jury that they were going to prove their case, but Christensen said only one side did.
"I don't think they had a good impact," Christensen said in reference to Chauvin's defense team.
"I think he over-promised in the beginning and didn't live up to what he said he was going to do," Christensen said.

(20,897 posts)Other than to discredit the evidence of the Prosecution. Eric Nelson did not succeed.
Nor will he when he appeals the Verdict before the Minnesota Appealate Court. Keith's team will prevail.

It is like the tweet someone sent...The trial should have lasted nine minutes and 29 seconds. The video did the job, anyone doubting the intent of Chauvin would have meant they did not watch the video.

(10,969 posts)I didn't follow the trial much while it was going on, but then I read snippets of Dr. Tobin's testimony. They were so compelling, I had to go watch the entire thing.
It was just completely done at that point. I didn't doubt a resoundingly guilty verdict after that.
And to think the doctor offered his services because he felt morally obligated. He's good people.

(13,710 posts)The defense was pathetic, what could you expect? "aquit him - he's white"

(41,631 posts)I mean ... other than the video of Chauvin killing Floyd. That was the MOST damning of course.
But the fact that Chauvin and Floyd knew each other, they had worked together, there could well have been some kind of grudge or motive. The jury was never told that.
The facts of all the complaints about racially-motivated behavior against Chauvin on his employment record. Maybe he hadn't killed anyone before, but he could well be someone with mental or emotional problems, due to the previous incidents that the jury wasn't told about.
Chauvin and his ex-wife were in legal troubles with the IRS over back taxes owed, potentially hiding property and assets in their divorce settlement and it wasn't disclosed to the jury.
How guilty does this guy have to be in order for 12 impartial white people to find him "guilty"?

The defense's primary lawyer was very unlikeable.
