The set-aside seats, reported by The Los Angeles Times, are part of the many incentives being offered from doughnuts to beer to encourage people to get vaccinated against Covid-19. The Miami Heat and the San Francisco Giants have introduced similar sections at their stadiums.

(111,359 posts)so if antivaxxers can't get the good seats, maybe some of them will reconsider, in a contest between sports and dogma, sports often seem to win out.

Most will lack the ambition, the access, or both. They will just whine about cancel culture instead of acknowledging their own stupidity.

(2,868 posts)there's already PDFs of the blank vaccination cards floating around. All you have to do is print and fill it in. I see a lawsuit coming, hopefully not from a death. They could move to having the state seal stamped on the cards, but that can be forged as well.
They need to move to a digitally accessed card. It wouldn't be impossible to fake, but it would be difficult.

(8,994 posts)would not be able to deal with it. Of course shes not going to sporting events, and she does have help.
Not everyone is computer literate though, and not all of those who are not have anybody to help them deal with technology.
Its been challenging enough to get the vaccine to people like that.
Not that I know what the answer is. But putting everything on line leaves people out.

(2,868 posts)like a grandchild's photo. Or as a last resort, it could be loaded to a card, like a credit card, and scanned or waved like a credit card. If updating is required, it can be auto-updated or one-click updated on the phone, but a card would require a visit to a health department.
Demobrat
(8,994 posts)Not everyone does. The card idea is better IMO. Something with a photo and a signature on it. Or maybe theres a choice. Like credit card or Apple Pay. I would like to see some sort of secure ID developed. Heck I would like it if the unvaccinated wore scarlet Us on their foreheads, but thats just me.

(10,460 posts)I was called an idiot three times this morning on the WaPo comment section about this.
Frankly, I don't see the discrimination here. Unvaccinated people are free to go to the ballpark and sit in any other section. You just have to show proof of vaccination to sit in that one particular section (hopefully, it's behind home plate). It's not like you are being barred from entering, or being relegated to the bleacher seats, the way that African Americans used to be.
The perpetual victimhood of the RWNJs is astounding.

(20,219 posts)That's the way to do it. Of course, being able to get vaccine should be enough of a reward, but some folks just need that extra push.
