Had an upper/lower respiratory infection and many months later I still felt like utter crap.

They were calling it 'The Yuppie Disease'.

Ever since then, whenever I get an infection, viral or bacterial, the acute symptoms subside, but I'm left with extreme fatigue. All those office visit diagnoses printouts: 'Fatigue', 'Malaise'. Rinse and repeat. Great stress, post activity, etc. wipes you out
just as told on this piece.

Doc in the mid 80's said being thought to have CFIDS is 'academic'. Not so anymore.

One doc prescribed antidepressants and I refused to take them. They thought it was all in your head. So this segment on NewsHour exactly resonates.
