I for one would love to “get rid of” police forces if we could find humane ways of dealing peacefully with the jobs cops are now handling so brutishly.

It's like the father who tells his kid "you're never going to be a rock star so may as well put that guitar down and start reading the NYT".

If everyone listened to crap like that, I'd be a serf working the fields for some stuffy German robber baron right now.
