Memphis dad, playing with gun, accidentally shoots his son

The father is charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and aggravated child abuse and neglect.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A boy is in critical condition in the hospital after being accidentally shot by his father who was playing with a gun.

According to the Memphis Police Department, 31-year-old Steven Sibley has been charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon after shooting his son Thursday afternoon. Sibley was playing with the gun, according to the victim’s brother who then hid in a closet and then heard a shot, according to an affidavit. Sibley then took his son, who was shot in the stomach and arm, to Methodist South Hospital.

Sibley is scheduled to be in court Monday.

Nothing more at link. Not sure how or why anyone would "play" with a gun.

We have the constitutional ability to severely limit the number of new gun sales and type that are sold. We have the ability to take large amount of guns off the streets every day.

We have to do it. I no longer entertain arguments to the contrary. Only arguments on how to get it done. We must stop debating the gun fetish crowd and simply have a debate among reasoned adults who want to dramatically reduce the number of weapons in society.

out of the gene pool before you have reproduced, but waiting until you have progeny and removing them is a really sick and twisted way to do meta.

Being around guns or children. I agree..fix him so he cannot reproduce after he gets out of jail.
