Why are people still asking this sort of thing at this late date?

Trump never forgets a slight (or something that he takes as one) and is always looking for a chance to get payback (supersized with extra knife-twisting).

The only thing that can sometimes dissuade him is if it costs him something. What does this cost him? Nothing. As far as he's concerned, if it costs the Republicans, they deserve it for being a mangy pack of disloyal sonsabiches.
