Former Atlanta officer fired over the shooting of Rayshard Brooks fighting to be reinstated
The former Atlanta police officer who gunned down Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old Black man who was fleeing from law enforcement when he was killed, wants his job back.
Garrett Rolfe, who is currently facing murder charges in connection with the shooting, did not get a chance to defend himself before he was fired last June, according to his lawyer, Lance LoRusso. During a virtual appearance before the Atlanta Civil Service Board Thursday, LoRusso argued the citys mayor pushed for Rolfes immediate firing, resulting in an inadequate hearing for his client, 11 Alive reported.
Brooks, a father of four, was fatally shot on June 12 after Atlanta officers were called to a Wendys parking lot where he, according to authorities, had fallen asleep in his car in the drive-through lane. After nearly an hour questioning and a sobriety test, police moved to arrest Brooks and the situation quickly spun out of control.
Brooks snatched a Taser from one of the officers and fled, firing it at Rolfe as he ran. Rolfe, in turn, discharged his own Taser before opening fire with his gun.

I think he should worry about beating the murder charges first. His sense of entitlement is quite something.
