New Hampshire (>70%!)
CT
Mass

All of them have turned the corner on the number of cases & hospitalizations.

Well done. Let’s all get there.

1. NY, which was sitting at 8-9000 new cases a day FOREVER has finally begun to fall. Thank God!

We're around 5000 new cases per day now, which is still awful, but it is a great improvement and it happened fast after no improvement whatsoever for what seemed like months.

2. Lewiston Maine has a high number of cases for some reason.

It's now #2 for every metro area in the entire country for the percentage of new cases. (The other top ten are all located in Michigan.)

There's a large Wal-Mart distribution center there, serving the entire Northeast, but I have no idea if it's related to their recent surge in Covid cases.

Because of your post I checked here.
9.17 million doses, 3.55 million fully vaxxed.
That comes to 5.6 million people (assuming everybody fully vaxxed got a 2 shot regime).
That puts us at around 45%. Well behind the states in your list but about 10% relative more than the US as a whole.

the vaccinations have really taken off here and our cases have been plumetting. something like 80% of SF Bay Area residents want to get vaccinated. i wish those were the numbers nationwide.

seems like we're all talking about getting back to normal and a lot of us are fully vaccinated and know lots of people who are and are starting to act like normal.

vaccinations are the key to getting us out of this. Republicans want to get back to normal -this is how!

It's odd that the lead the pack in first dose given, but don't rank near the top in completed vaccinations. Our World in Data lists them solidly as middle of the pack in terms of completed vaccinations, at at 29.4%.

But the pace is slowing. I think we’ll reach 60% though. Don’t think we’ll get much past 70%. Lots of people say they regret getting the shot because it didn’t change anything. They feel like they got tricked. They are really not happy to hear they have to get a third shot. Yeah - I’m just telling you what I’m hearing from people.
