Berwyn IL -- Victim, 32 y/o Humberto Guzman intervened to try to calm things down when the assailant, a store patron, began arguing with a cashier. The 14 y/o daughter of the Hispanic cashier came to the register to ask about buying water and the assailant started an argument about butting the line punching the daughter and hitting the cashier also stabbing and injuring another customer.
The assailant was taken into custody safely and has not been identified by any newz outlet.
Strange that the victim was identified but not the perpetrator.

BERWYN, Ill. (WLS) -- Berwyn police said a man was stabbed to death while trying to stop a fight at Valle's Produce Friday morning.
Police said around 10:15 a.m., a customer at the store became enraged when a customer angrily accused a 14-year-old girl of cutting in line to buy a bottle of water. The girl was in the store to visit her mother, who worked there as a cashier, and was asking her mother about the price of a bottle of water.

(38,958 posts)Essential workers risking and in this case losing their life everyday so that society can continue to operate but arent worth hazard pay or an ounce of respect from their employers or that same society they serve.

This crazy asshole ruined his life forever because a teenage girl cut him in line. I just dont get it.

(65,293 posts)...the same family that owns one of the supermarkets in our town. They just bought it to add to their chain around 18 months ago.
Very nice family, too. Bummer for them too, because now their store is a crime scene and it's doubtful they did a single thing wrong.
Not as bad as for the family of the victim, of course, but they're collateral damage as well.
