LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman is urging business leaders to withhold economic support from politicians who seek to limit the right of any American citizen to vote.
"This should be a simple, single-issue reason to stop supporting any politician."

(16,784 posts)This should be a universal message to Republicans running for State and Federal office.
Support Democrats instead. They support Voting and 1st Amendment Rights. What can be so complicated?

(35,068 posts)If you have to ban giving people water who are waiting in line to vote, then maybe that line shouldn't be that long.

This is a breakthrough message - Billionaires don't want to see a country torn apart - bad for business.
And they know in a few years the majority of their customers AND clients are going to be POC.
We have just got to continue fight and hold the racist stupid in control until that happens.

(19,199 posts)for any unscrupulous billionaire - and there's no shortage of those - to say, "this is my chance to buy, and own, my very own Senator, or Representative to do my bidding." Getting the Captains of Industry to play as a team instead of being cutthroat individualists is 100 times worse than herding a pack of rabid Wolverines.
That's my take on it anyway.

I might go looking for Nick Hanauer. I just realized how long it's been since we, or I, at least, have heard anything from the "renegade" billionaire.
