I wish I could understand the mindset behind WANTING to be an oppressed minority.

Any real oppressed minority will tell you it's nothing to aspire to, nothing to want to be, nothing that will make your life more glamorous, or even more notable.

It's all about getting attention, and nothing else.

"Look at ME! I'm an oppressed minority because people want me to wear a mask in public, and get immunized against a deadly disease!"

Any real oppressed minority will tell you it's better not to be noticed at all than to be noticed for the wrong reasons.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
