In FL, it's illegal to film animal abuse at a CAFO but legal to film a professor to intimidate,

harass and shut that professor up if you don't like what her or she is saying.

Also illegal to film the police.

This is what a Nazi police state looks like.

6. According to Weinstein Legal, it's an open question about filming police in Florida.

From Weinstein Legal:

...

According to Florida statute 934.03, it is a felony to make an audio recording of someone without their knowledge and consent. This is Florida's wiretapping law. It covers intercepting or recording a "wire, oral, or electronic communication" unless all parties involved in the communication consent.

However, Florida statute 924.02(2) allows a person to record public events where the person or persons being recorded do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy. In addition, Federal courts and Florida State courts ruled time and again that on-duty police officers doing their job in public do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy.

If you are looking for clarity, you are out of luck. Police officers have a statute that seems to justify a felony arrest. Yet, it can be argued that this lets you record an on-duty police officer in public, as long as you are not obstructing them in any way since the officer should not expect his actions to be private.

Too many Free Speechers have been more concerned about those Nazis being able to march in parades. And then Trump got kicked off Twitter and their tears really got flowing. I don't mean to diminish the importance of free speech. I just hate how a certain crowd has come to dominate that conversation.

If you have a choice, do you work in a state where you know right wing students will be posting misleading edited video designed to defame you? Do you want to deal with the resulting threats and disruption of your life, including threats to your family?

Or do you teach in a state where this harassment is not encouraged by the State?

7. It is not illegal to film the police if they are "in public"

And people have been filming college courses for at least twenty years.

So these seems to be a streach..

The harassment patt is a result of politized social media and is not a result of filming per se. IE Ward Churchhill.

That seems to fit the bill. Although I contend that it's not government per se that they don't like. They just want government that does what they want it to do- gives them and their ilk preferential status in any and all things and regulate anything and everything they don't like and keep government from regulating things that are important to them. Ultimately, IT'S ALL ABOUT THEM!
