Daily Mail and Fux Nois pushed misleading claims about Biden limiting meat consumption.

Conservatives like Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene lashed out at the president over it.

False claims about President Joe Biden's plans for addressing the climate crisis spread online over the past few days, but the lack of truth over the claims didn't stop Republican lawmakers from responding to or repeating them.

The Daily Mail published a story Thursday with a headline that began "How Biden's climate plan could limit you to eat just one burger a MONTH." It included unsubstantiated claims that to meet Biden's plan Americans would need to "cut 90% of red meat out of diet" and "only eat 4lbs a year."

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas shared a screenshot from Fox News that echoed the claims, labeled as "Biden climate requirements," along with the limit of "one burger per month."

The Fox News host Larry Kudlow said: "Speaking of stupid, there's a study coming out of the University of Michigan which says that to meet the Biden Green New Deal targets, America has to, get this, America has to stop eating meat, stop eating poultry and fish, seafood, eggs, dairy, and animal-based fats."

Something about only being to eat 4 pounds of meat a year. She commented “that will never happen in my house”. I commented that it was a false claim and added information as to why it was false. One of her friends took issue with the source of my information. You just can’t convince these nuts.

Befuddled Larry Kudlow Rails That Biden Will Force Americans To Guzzle 'Plant-Based Beer'
Now that Donald Trump’s former economic adviser Larry Kudlow has taken his words of wisdom from the White House to Fox News, he wants the nation to know that President Joe Biden is plotting to force Americans to drink “plant-based beer.”

Egads. Apparently the man who declared COVID-19 “contained close to airtight” before more than 570,000 Americans died is not talking about the beer everyone drinks now. That’s typically made from grains, hops and yeast — and not an ounce of steak. (Additives may include animal products, like gelatin, but beer is definitely plant based.)

"DATE PUBLISHED:
January 13, 2020"

"Cutting the intake of all animal-based foods by half and replacing with equivalent quantities of plantbased foods (scenario 3) results in a 35% decrease in GHGE from the baseline, to 3.3 kg CO2 eq per person per day. Under this scenario 3, red meat represents 36% of the total emissions. Further reducing consumption of beef to only 10% of the baseline value, and subsequent replacement with plant-based proteins (scenario 4), cuts the diet-related emissions to 2.4 kg CO2 eq per capita per day, a 51 % decrease from the baseline diet. Under this final scenario 4, the average American consumes 50.1 pounds of meat and poultry per year.

Using population projections from the US Census Bureau, an unchanged diet would result in 646 million metric tonnes CO2 eq. (MMT) in 2030, whereas scenario 3 – replacing 50% of all animal-based foods with plant-based alternatives – leads to 224 MMT less emissions per year in 2030, a reduction equivalent to the annual emissions of 47.5 million of today’s average passenger vehicles. If we assume a linear transition from the 2016 diet to 2030 projections, this target of 50% substitution results in an estimated cumulative reduction of 1634 MMT. By further replacing 90% of beef, the cumulative emission reduction increases to 2408 MMT."
