Paranoia strikes deep.

I was at work and a couple of coworkers were discussing how to cover a trip hazard were the newly laid carpet met the concrete floor. Ramps, or whatever. I had no idea, so kept on to get a coffee. I did not have my phone.
The next day, I get ads for various ramps on facebook. WTF?
Just imagine what "they" know about us.

fox-hunt-y type music and the bugle.

Within minutes, a bunch of ads for horse feed showed up on my phone.

My wife once stopped outside a store in our small town near Düsseldorf to call a friend. As soon as she hung up, her phone pinged with an ad for the store where she had just been standing.
