Not a parody. This is American Consevatism circa 2021.
"My primary reason for refusing the vaccine is much simpler: I dislike the people who want me to take it, and it makes them mad when they hear about my refusal. That, in turn, makes me happy."
I Wont Take the Vaccine Because It Makes Liberals Mad
I will never allow myself to be injected with Big Pharmas mass-produced mystery juice, in part because it was rushed out of the lab and into the manufacturing line like a replacement for a Honda

(6,265 posts)truly a happy event for me...may they go painfully into the eternal night their fuhrer created over the last 4 years. Culminating in a coup attempt on 1/6/2021.

(70,445 posts)I might be wrong but I think much of this misinformation on the right is being spread and
amplified by the Russians. These dumb fuck's brains have been cooked and made ready
by years of "hate talk" from radio/TV and for the past 20 by social media.

(221 posts)Very similar things have actually happened iRL. People have literally died gasping COVID was a liberal hoax. The stories from nurses would make your blood boil and make you cry at the same time.

(6,280 posts).... I have said these people would throw their own family under the bus for a chance to "stick it to the libs". Right-wing values.

(21,596 posts)It's out of control in many of these countries, and their already-strained hospitals are at (sometimes above) capacity.
Let the Repugs do something to give the U.S. a positive image for a change.

(7,399 posts)It's just a way to be passive aggressive against the "libs".
It's bizarre really because most of the guidance regarding masks and vaccines originates with nonpartisan scientists and medical professionals. Then it gets repackaged by politicians, more or less intact. But if you believe in "deep state scientific panels", the distinction gets blurred.
This is why you'll be hearing a lot about blood clots. Right-wingers will periodically be questioned about their vaccine hesitancy at the water cooler. They can't just say they are against the libs, because that sounds dumb (because it is dumb). Coming up with an alternate apologia can be challenging here. Adept passive aggressors never admit to the passive aggression. So, blood clots it is. That's their story and they're sticking to it.
It's probably best to not even ask this question unless you already know the answer (standard lawyer approach).

(5,518 posts)Charlie Sykes is not the bad guy here. The actual writer is some more obscure dumbass.
Sykes is actually pointing out how idiotic the Republican Party has become. Even though he is a long time RWer, he dumped Trump and supported Biden.

(101,265 posts)and then got a job in the Trump administration. Yes, that's right, the way to save the world turned out to be "pwn the libs by endangering herd immunity against a disease that's killed half a million Americans, and 3 million worldwide".
Looking at their front page, they have an obsession with "Anglo-Saxon" heritage. These truly are the worst America has to offer.
