Gun control may be in our future ...

Gun ownership among Black men and women skyrockets

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, police injustice and national unrest, more Black women and men have been purchasing guns and joining firearms groups.

A report produced by the Firearm Industry Trade Association noted a nearly 60% increase in firearm sales among Black women and men in 2020. And when you consider all buyers, the organization said more than 8.4 million people purchased a firearm for the first time last year.

“We had been seeing the market shift over time,” Mark Oliva, Director of Public Affairs for the Firearm Industry Trade Association, said. “It was looking less like me (a white man) and more like the rest of America. We’re seeing more African Americans, more Hispanics, more Asian Americans, and we’re seeing more women buy guns.”

Guns were for white guys only. He let it out so causally, he doesn't even know it.

“It was looking less like me (a white man) and more like the rest of America."

A lot to unpack in that statement.

The phrase looking "more like the rest of America" does not have negative connotations for me.

Black people with guns, oh my. Either we (white "peaceful folk&quot make gun laws tougher, or die at their hands.

Once the Panthers were arming themselves and open carrying, Reagan and the NRA jumped all over gun control.

They're trying to frighten the right into fighting everyone else, REAL fighting, overthrowing the government, and to demand increasingly authoritarian government.

RW authoritarians tend to want, even need, authoritarian leadership and the more fear, the more demand. For all their noise about "freedom," they are not a fraction as much afraid of RW oppression of themselves as they are eager for leaders who will use it to smash everyone else.

Most of the lies being used to frighten and enrage them are very silly. But being able to point to arming by the Black Menace, even very marginal, would be exactly the kind of thing needed. Race Riots! Civil War! Murder in your beds!

If white liberals and Jews would also run out and arm for real, instead of requiring them to just lie about it, that'd be very helpful too. Socialist Revolution! Slavery! Death camps!

It's not too much. They have been brought to craziness, and it is happening here.
