Got My Second Shot of Pfizer and It Was Pretty Empty...

...at a Southern California vaccine hub. My first shot was pretty crowded, but two weeks later when I arrived at the same center, I was afraid that it was closed because I was able to get rock star parking near the entrance.

As for side effects, it was surprisingly mild. My arm only felt minor pain, and I did feel a very minor chill 12 hours later, but I was expecting that I would need to sleep it off.

Now, 24 hours later, I am not feeling any side effects. (Knock on wood).

The vaccine centers might be empty because you can get them anywhere now. Initech Apr 2021 #3

of the vaccine "supersites", at least here in CA, are now only booking second dose appointments or have specific days when they are providing specific types of vaccines, so that may account for some of the emptiness at certain locations.

Both the attendance and the minor side effects.

I was very surprised that the mass attendance during my first shot was not repeated at the same place three weeks later, especially since availability had just been opened up to all groups over 16 years old. Don't they want a second dose?

I wouldn't want to drive 2 hours to a vaccine center when my local pharmacy is 5 minutes away and can perform the same job.

...there were not many appointments available, so I had to drive a bit. However, at least I am done.

It just amazes me how getting a vaccine shot got so politicized.

...the first shot was:
20 minutes to find a parking spot
25 minutes waiting in line
25 minutes to get the shot
15 minute wait
20 minutes to get out of the parking lot.
Three weeks later we go to same site.
30 SECONDS to find a parking place.
No Line
5 minutes to get the shot. She didn't wait the 15.
30 SECONDS to get out of the lot.
First shot, 105 minutes. Second shot SIX minutes.
For my two shots (different site) times were 35 & 20 minutes.
