Last night’s local paper had a page with pictures of the local police force members and a large banner stating Thank You at the top.

My husband was a cop. I know that job is often difficult and scary, including for members of the officer’s family. I pray for their safety and hope that they return to their families after their shift is over, as I believe we all do.

But I wonder at a newspaper page that prints a big thank you just days after a very bad cop was rightly convicted for murder. Does it really mean Thank You, or does it actually imply Fuck You to the court and jury who convicted him? Maybe both. I don’t know.
