The counter is that if Republicans actually believed that bullshit about hard work and Bootstraps and meritocratic capitalism, they would have spent the last 50 years doing something other than absolutely fuck-all about systemic rascism in america, because if all the other bullshit were actually correct, and the playing field were otherwise level WITHOUT the rascism, black voters would all be republicans already cause THEY know how much harder they actually have to work to get the same breaks cut to them as white folk, and as a result they'd have a legit reason to be worried about republican shit like estate taxes.
