?w=621Another Colorado man was arrested Wednesday on federal charges after authorities say he participated in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C.
Multiple videos and photos show that Logan Grover, of Erie, took part in the insurrection, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday and unsealed Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Grover also posted on Facebook about planning to participate in the gathering, according to the complaint, and two tipsters relayed that information to the FBI.
If you accept the reality that the election was stolen, than (sic) you cannot accept Biden as the new president & neither can I, Grover wrote in the Facebook post, according to a screenshot included in the criminal complaint. Which is why I flew to DC yesterday. I fought for this nation.
Grover is charged with four criminal counts: knowingly entering a restricted building without authority, disorderly conduct, violent entry to Capitol grounds and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.

(15,222 posts)careful to get all the evidence lined up and the legal i's and t's before bringing charges.
It might be interesting to see how many current office holders decide to get back to "the family".

(11,292 posts)for those that entered the building. Others can be added. And, for now, it seems like attention and effort are focused mostly toward individuals that attacked police, employed weapons, engaged in wanton destruction, and/or possible conspiracy -- (just of the top of my head).
I agree with this prioritization (for now) -- even while I think there should be a stringent penalty laid against ALL participants that illegally entered the grounds that day.
(I've heard virtually no discussion of 'sedition' being leveled as a charge -- and I'm skeptical of its application here. Not arguing 'theory' or definition -- just saying I see little chance of it actually happening in these circumstances.)

(2,398 posts)..of value about organizing and planning and groups and militias and just ANYthing.
Most of these turds have never faced Federal charges before, and it they get lawyers, those lawyers are gonna tell them to cooperate.
These people are gonna roll on anybody they know. The FBI is gonna roll up any of the associated groups like a cheap rug.

(13,918 posts)You are more optimistic than I.
Sure many would roll. But i suspect they will be told not to. They will be forcefully told to keep their mouths shut and take the current crimes, because if they open their traps, then the feds will have to hang them with heavyweight charges.
In short.. I think the feds want to nail enough of the people who invaded the capital to have the appearance of having dealt with the problem.. and then do a full stop. They dont want to get into the associated groups, or deeper into what happened. Because too many of those associated groups ARE law enforcement. And/or the Republican core. Its a hornets nest, and Im pretty sure they will smash a couple straglers on the window, but otherwise actively choose to ignore the larger nest built into the side of the house.
I'd like it kicked over, opened wide, sprayed with appropriate chemicals, bagged and removed for incineration, and then do any necessary repairs. But I dont believe that US law enforcement, nor most of the political establishment, either side, have the guts to really do what needs done.
