I was in the military and we were having an exercise at the small airport the Carters fly out of. At the time there were just a handful of us doing a site survey in preparation for about 300 arriving later. She was flying out that day and took the time to come over to us and ask how we were doing. We all thought it was very decent of her.

HWBush commissioned Team B, which was created under the auspices of performing an “independent” analysis of the Soviet threat. The reality was a ratfucking operation designed to use classified intel to subversively leak damaging information about the Carter administration to the press. History proved just about everything they produced was just flat out wrong.

That being said - and I hope this isn't slightly heretical - I think the Carters are the best *people*, the best versions of human beings, that have ever graced the WH. They are, at heart, simple, humble and sincere servants of their fellow citizens.

I also believe President Biden has the potential to rise to that level.

And, on an even more personal note, it was seeing President Carter banging nails with his own elderly hands on a Habitat For Humanity build that got me interested in supporting the organization.

I don't know what he was thinking. His proper course was to be earning 6 and 7 figure cheques for blathering into a microphone like RR did.
