Local walk-in vaccination clinic - majority choosing J&J vaccine!

I'm sorry I don't have a link for this - I heard this on a local news report on WVIK radio, which is the Rock Island, IL-based affiliate of NPR.

Anyway, the story stated that both the Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines were being offered to walk-in patients, and more were choosing the J&J as opposed to Moderna, and it sounded like the convenience of "one and done" was the biggest factor. So much for the idea that "vaccine hesitancy" was going to be off the charts following the temporary pause in usage after the blood clot cases surfaced.

Makes sense. One shot is more convenient barring all other factors. n/t forgotmylogin Apr 2021 #1

I would definitely have opted for the "one and done" out of convenience.

But with my underlying health issues I'm glad that I didn't have that choice and received the 2-dose Pfizer.

Of course it was a question of where and when, not which vaccine it was. My wife and I jumped on it with both feet. We got the Moderna, but we would not have refused any other. (1)

Given the chance, I certainly would not have made the choice based upon convenience. I didn't find a second trip to the site to be and overburdening inconvenience in order to possibly save my life. I am funny about that, heck I might have even made a third trip and stood on my head to get the shot if that was what was required.

Since it has turned out that apparently all of the vaccines are effective, the single shot would have been nice, but I am not complaining. I just praise the Lord that Trump had the foresight to create these shots when everyone else was running around in a panic... It was blessing to have a failed businessman and famous draft dodger, who knew more than the medical professionals, working tirelessly to create the miracle drugs. Could I get an Amen?
