We just have a little time to heal the "fake news" ignorance

One of the worst fallouts that from the Trump era is this idea the journalists on the left are fake news. We’ve got to get across the difference between journalists and opinion writers.

What is journalism? What are the rigorous tests they give to discern fact from fiction? This is a discipline that is under-recognized and little understood, and to become trusted again it should be both.

When we actually get the opportunity to ask a person who drank the Kool-Aid how do they know something is true, they often default to the charge of fake news.

Fortunately, in addition to our little one on one conversations which I don’t underestimate at all, the actual media can make a dent in this wall of willful ignorance and they really must. An intensive and collaborative campaign to help people understand what it means to be a journalist and to do the work of journalism could really help us save democracy. We don’t have a lot of time. What does journalism mean to you?

What are the key points that you would like people to know about its role in separating truth from fiction?

One word, "Epistemology"

What are valid means of gaining true knowledge?

How do you know what you claim to know?
How do you know the veracity of what you claim as 'knowledge'?

I read it on the internet is the worst possible answer.
