8. I Have One Gay Friend Who Is Kind Of A Slut. . .

(He's comfortable with that word.) And another Gay friend who is kind of prissy like me (I'm okay with being called a prude, btw. It's a least part of my truth.) The second friend would like to connect and be part of the Gay community but most of what he sees vis a vis the sexual mores has put him off, so he is actually more comfortable with fairly liberal church communities. (The ones that he frequents didn't have a specific Gay outreach the last time that we spoke.)

Then, there is that one guy who founded NAMBY -an organization dedicated to "Man/Boy Love". (I am a little uncertain about what I am writing here, but I am kind of scared to Google it, tbh.) So, Gay folk run the gamut--which is to be expected because they are people. And people whose principal drivers are the suppression of any other person's truth and their enjoyment of elemental rights are the biggest problem in the world right now, even if they aren't secretly abusing others and are actually living "up" to their self-imposed standards. Anytime one's primary standard is that there is only one "right" way to be and to live and to love, and they think they can enforce that standard by changing laws to make other peoples' lives more difficult--that is the only true obscene practice.

I do not dispute your assertion. And I had hoped that I made that point clear. In the article that I remember reading many years past, the fellow who had started the organization, (identified by whichever initials) wanted to legalize and de-stigmatize sexual relationships between adult men and underage males.

He was roundly criticized. The moral objections came from all sides, and many Gay rights advocates were additionally concerned that mainstream straight society would wrongly assume that Gay people supported that man's views.
