IQ45 WITHOUT media attention (Lord knows they still direct WAY TOO MUCH toward him) AND the actual Office of President - the guy is a giant waste - a person with nothing to say (not that he ever did, at least in a positive way - which is what one should expect from "leaders" ) and fewer and fewer people listening.
It is a crime that he was ever allowed to assume the office - and it only allowed his demented ego to go into overdrive - but the PLUS side of it all is - it has to be driving him absolutely crazy (I was going to say 'insane' - but he already is!) that he is now relegated to being the Master of Ceremonies at the "Friday Nite Bingo!!!!!!" .

the transition to retirement is a difficult one.

You need to cut away from what the job brought you, what you brought to the job, and you need to reinvent your relevance in the world.

None of them ever thought that their time in the limelight would ever end, or what they would do afterwards. Silly!

In Trump's case, though, it is especially difficult.

He brought nothing but chaos to the job, and the glitz and glamor he gained from it have dissipated.
The GOP - except for the crazies - has deserted him.
The law is after him.
People he owes money to are after him.

Donald, performing in front of a captive audience isn't the way to do it. You have no new routine, you have nothing of relevance to say.

My suggestion?
Pack a suitcase full of money, go to a different country, change your appearance, become a human being.
(That last bit will take some time!)

Just disappear. Off the stage, from the history books.
The adults are now in charge.

"None of them ever thought that their time in the limelight would ever end, or what they would do afterwards."

Without going back into the planning and actual 'actions' of others, I firmly believe that PRESIDENT OBAMA had a well-planned exit and has followed it to this day. He chose where to live (considerations given for the future plans of his daughters), what to be doing (avoided contact or interaction with media looking for comments/reactions to IQ45's daily chaos), and keeping a low profile regarding the planning and future of the Democratic Party.

We are talking SERIOUS HUMBLE here!

He could have taken a 'media tour' to brag about his administration.
He could have taken a 'media position' on a cable network to 'comment' on current political positions.

NO!

He opted to leave the White House and "stay low" - keeping "out of the limelight."

For many Dems - it was frustrating - so many wanted to hear from him regarding the screw-ups of IQ45.

Was not to be.

WHAT A CLASS ACT. We were SO lucky to have him.

HISTORY will rank him as one of the greats.

...at what M. Solvent wrote, Cantaloupe Caligula was NEVER the leader of the free world.

That was apparent immediately. At best, the other world leaders tolerated him -- no doubt because of our nation's standing, but definitely not due to his skills. And those who watched video clips or read the accounts of these encounters could readily (perhaps "painfully" ) see that he was WAY out of his league.

M. Solvent's other observations seem to be logical and factual.
