APR 29/Senate passsed 89-2 "Drinking Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Act"

Apr 29, 2021
Senate passed the Drinking Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Act by a 89-2 vote.

The only "no" votes were:
Senate GOP Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, who support POLLUTERS over the clean water we need to stay healthy.

How much $$ did the lobbyists give them?

Actually, I'm surprised that a majority of the Republicans voted for it at all.

to go back home with a big "No" plastered on them.

And maybe, just maybe, behind all this logjam talk we're getting, Biden actually does have more pull than we think after all those years as a popular Senator.

(I hope so!)

getting worked on. On the other hand, it might be the only infrastructure bill that gets passed if Manchin and Sinema keep playing their games. It'll be interesting to learn how broad this recent bill covers, and is there a $ amount attached to it.

The Democrats' Drinking Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Act of 2021 and its allocation of $35B will become law. It's a good start. Much more will be needed.

The Repubs are instructed to be on board because they need this lie for upcoming elections, so we allowed them to cosponsor, bipartisan "cooperation" part of doing the job. That they are a (the!) party of clean water, stopping the poisoning children, recovering waste water, etc., is of course a lie, but it can't hurt to remind some of these senators that it shouldn't and doesn't have to be.
