President Biden
@POTUS
United States government official

Teachers are an extraordinary force for good in our nation — I’m lucky enough to be married to one and have seen firsthand how hard they work for their students. This year teachers have gone above and beyond to help children learn through the pandemic. So please, thank a teacher.

I literally just sat through the federally mandated test less than an hour ago. The feds made it mandatory, but the results won’t count against us. WTAF. If kids are at home and don’t want to come in for it, they don’t have to. This is the single largest collection of useless data I think I have ever been privy to. The sheer amount of variables in this test are mind boggling.

And it didn’t have to be this way. Common sense says it wasn’t necessary and literally takes teaching time away from me and my students. We did it that way last year and everything was fine. I suppose testing companies like Pearson have to get paid. They don’t donate for nothing.

You want to thank a teacher? Great. Get rid of these wasteful, inane tests.
