When the leaders of a review of Arizona’s election were trying to convince a judge not to halt their sketchy audit of Maricopa County’s 2020 results, they claimed they’d be perfectly happy to find that nothing was amiss in the tally.

“Our client is not going into this with the perception that they are going to find anything wrong,” Alex Kolodin, a lawyer for the auditors, said at a court hearing last week. “That nothing went wrong is an acceptable answer to our client, so we just wish to make that absolutely clear to the court.”

But in the far-right corners of the media ecosphere — and at the Palm Beach resort that the former president calls home — that’s not the perception.

Far-right blogs like Gateway Pundit have seen criticisms of the review as a sign that Democrats are “terrified” of the “alleged massive fraud” the audit may expose.

One America News Network (OAN) has framed up its coverage of the Arizona review as just the first in what could be a series of audits in other states where former President Trump contested his defeat.

Trump himself, speaking to a crowd at Mar-A-Lago last week, remarked on the “interesting things” that were happening in Arizona.

And there are people that still believe him? Dumpy is a pathetic excuse for a human being, let alone president. From the beginning, he was in over his head and only did things that helped him and his family. He deserves to be indicted, found guilty, and sentenced. The best bet is that New York will attach his properties for back taxes and fines and interest. I doubt there is a jury that could be found where a Maga wouldn't be on it.

My bet is that he will lose his court vases, have several large judgments against him, declare bankruptcy, do a fund raiser and mooch off his followers. Kind of like what he is has been doing for the past four months.

Hopefully, the country learned its lesson during the past four years.

10. One of the major differences between us and right wingers.

I remember in 2016, even on DU, there were some of us who were distraught at the election loss, we knew that there was Russian interference and irregularities. Some were asking if the election could be invalidated etc... The response was that there was no mechanism which could do that. Insufficient evidence of widespread elections and voter fraud existed. We know that Republicans cheat, but unfortunately the "cheating" is the legal type with gerrymandering, voter suppression, etc... We "resisted". We called Trump illegitimate, etc... Then we got to reality and we worked on ways to survive the Trump presidency. Why? because we live in the shared reality. As much as we wanted to believe we could change the situation, we knew, and were told that Trump was the 45th president. We didn't have networks telling us that the election would be overturned ...any day now.

That is a major difference. Right wing media feeds the predisposition by right wingers to fall in line. Right wing media has created a false narrative and false "reality" where people actually think, and scarily enough, will act on the idea that they can overturn the election. Many right wingers do not have a grasp of reality and there are plenty of grifters who will exploit that to make money too.

Let Common Cause and the DNC manage the impartial process. If it is found that Gore won (highly likely) I want the Robert's and Alito SCOTUS seats vacated.
