much ado about transgender athletes

Fox News has aired more segments on trans athletes so far in 2021 than it did in the last two years combined | Media Matters for America

Fox News aired at least 126 discussions about transgender athletes from January 2019 through March 2021, including 72 discussions that aired in the first three months of this year alone -- more than twice as many as in 2019 and 2020 combined. Throughout all of those discussions, Fox hosts and guests could point to only nine trans women athletes, one of whom was not even allowed to compete and none of whom were dominating their sport -- as states around the country consider banning them from competing.

Fox anchors, hosts, and guests also cited trans athletes in at least 58 passing mentions during this time, often listing them among examples of supposedly “extreme” Democratic policies.

i have had very mixed opinions of this issue, the kids, all of them, deserve to be treated fairly and protected from unfair competition and bullying. but what is the best way to achieve that?

i have commented in the past that i just do not think there are enough transgender children to worry about the bath rooms or sports records. this article confirms that conclusion. the usa has bigger problems than 9 unfortunate children who might not be noticed at all if not for the fox news echo chamber.

one last note on transgender athletes. how about the republican candidate for california governor .......

New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard will reportedly become the first transgender Olympian after qualifying for this summer's Tokyo Games, according to various reports.

Hubbard, 43, has been virtually guaranteed a spot in the women's super heavyweight category after the IOC amended qualifying rules due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She has not yet been officially named to the team.

Hubbard had been competing in men's weightlifting until she transitioned in 2012. She became eligible to compete in the Olympics since 2015, when the IOC allowed transgender women to be eligible in women's divisions as long as their testosterone levels were below 10 nanomoles per liter for at least 12 months before their first competition.

and retains an physical advantage thanks to puberty. Her father is one of NZ's wealthiest men - to me, it just reeks of entitlement. I still feel bad for Feagaiga Stowers.

The truth is this. We just cannot stop thinking about Feagaiga Stowers.

Having been chosen as Samoa’s flag bearer, this Pacific Games was supposed to have been her moment.

This is a young woman who has had to endure tremendous difficulties in her childhood, where she eventually entered the Samoa Victims Support Group, to end up where she is today. It’s an incredible story.

Indeed, Stowers meteoric rise has proven there is hope for everyone. And she’s done everything possible to be on top of her game, where she deserves to be.

This was until she stepped up on the weightlifting platform on Saturday where her hopes of clinching a Pacific Games gold – and that of a proud nation – were crushed by a fellow competitor, Laurel Hubbard.

The most heartbreaking part of this story is that her kiwi competitor is someone who shouldn’t have been there in the first place. Hubbard had represented New Zealand as Gavin Hubbard in international competitions.

Why are people talking about transgender rights now?
The transgender movement is financed by billionaire white men, like Jennifer Pritzker, formerly James Pritzker.

Yes, I know this is a conservative website, but please don't discount facts:
