(7,278 posts)but that his white supremacists / boogaloo Proud Boys et al have gone underground, and staying completely off the grid. They know they are all under surveillance not just by law enforcement, but by citizens at large. Watched and reported on.
That's my speculation.

(64,995 posts)I think a lot of posts were based on outrage over what stupid thing he did that day or the day before.
Now that he's been properly disposed of, those anti stories are dwindling rapidly.

(7,278 posts)I think it could be said it might be somewhat diminished up until this point.. but wait. He's back on Twitter now last I learned.
Even so, I believe I saw a day or two ago, a screen shot message authored by a member of one of the several militia/proud boy issuing new social media rules essentially to go completely off grid.
A march is apparently planned for in this coming weekend if memory serves, again edict issued to completely cover up tats, faces, no identifiable logo on clothing, no messaging on social media etc. but they'll be armed with toxic sprays, and an array of other items to be used as weapons. It's supposed to be millions of people. Well, we'll see about that I suppose.
But until that dude is locked up in chains with his mouth gagged, sentenced for the next century, his Cult status continues to thrive, only just slightly diminished. In other words, the graph doesn't signify to me evidence of diminished support. It just signifies they've gone underground in terms of internet grid. Because they know now they're being monitored on line.

(64,995 posts)Some minion tried an end run, got caught and the account deleted, the same day.
As to the rest, i understand your concern. I'm just not as pessimistic.

(7,278 posts)I love your Optimism. Please forgive me for any unintentional dampening. It's a big struggle for me, this thing that causes me such great angst on occasion this past several months: 2 panic attacks, for the first time in life. And I'm old.
Worst one was on election night, during the first hour, when everything seemed to be going the other way.
And then on Jan 6th. I'm not seeing the level of judicial action needed to quash this treasonous authoritarian and his cult followers, whether occupying public office, media positions or hidden under rocks. And that scares me.
I'm also reading tea leaves which seem to be telling a very dark story ahead. I know it's going to be a struggle, and long fight. We're going to lose battles and win some too. The hope is we win more than we lose and restore our democracy in the process.
