A day later, I can’t stop thinking about this threat from a state senator. Obviously she doesn’t actually have the power to imprison anybody, but the idea that the state of Arizona would jail federal officials for trying to enforce federal laws is some antebellum-era stuff

I walked into the middle school office (I was a substitute teacher) and overheard that another substitute teacher was not going to be used again because they had had some misbehaving students and had told them that she would make sure that none of them would ever get into college or get a good job. Of course she didn’t have that power but it sure scared the kids.
