Dear Mr & Mrs republicans, you can't have it both ways.

Was at my local watering hole last night, and as I sat down with 6 reQublicans at the round table, they were discussing
the peaceful/nonviolent demonstration of Jan 6th. And of course the law is overreaching their authority with the
charges and should just let everyone out of jail and forget it. Blah, blah, blah. Subject changed for 5/10 minutes, when
one started talking about Antifa's role in acting like Qrump supporters Jan 6th, just to make him look bad, blah, blah,
blah. To which I asked "did Antifa people vote for Biden?" Yes,yep, for sure, lock 'em up, etc. And my second question
gave way to 2/3 minutes of silence, " so are we for or against the FBI rounding up the Jan 6th people?"
FQX has so many people brainwashed, so sad. 2 of the 6 actually gave thought to my questions, other 4 are
drunk on 45's kool-aid.

Not their parents anyway. The look on that little girl's face is pretty scary. The boy looks a bit unsure. And these kids will grow up to be anti-democracy. I can't imagine their home life.

That's my favorite stump question.

If the Democrats rigged the election and took the White House and Congress, wouldn't that qualify as "tyranny"? Shouldn't the NRA have been out there arming the Capitol rioters? So now we just have to endure this unelected tyrant as president and that's OK?

And where were the other 70 million Trump voters? The Capitol rioters were the real patriots standing up to this tyranny, but they had small numbers and are now abandoned to be rounded up by the FBI.

How do you square all that I ask?

That is: .00007 % of 70 million voters that got played, and seriously conned by Trump and the 70 million who stayed safe and warm in their homes in front of their TV sets....

They thought that lardass was going to march with them all the way to the capitol and he ran and hid and watched what he had created unfold on his TV, protected by the Secret Service........

People in Russia have been literally laughing their asses off for the past five years, Amazed at how easily Trump has been played by Putin...........
Putin has nearly brought down the U.S., Democracy, and the U.S. Constitution with out starting a war, or so much as firing a single rocket or missile........

When you can't get them to acknowledge corroborated facts and basic logic, any meaningful discussion is impossible. For better or worse, I've cut the vast majority of them out of my life. Life is too short for arrogantly stupid, racist people. And that's the overwhelming driver in their love for Donnie Covid. They miss the days when they could get ahead in life simply for being white and will fight tooth and nail to keep that from ever going away. In my mind, they're racist thugs who don't deserve to be called Americans. Wall them off like a cyst and let them slowly die.

Who did services (eg, plumbers) at my house are today likely Trump supporters. No way to avoid them. But one thing great about NoVA is the diversity of people. The fabulous appliance repairman is Muslim; landscapers are from Central America; plumbers reflect a range, etc.

... who look or behave differently than themselves, even when those differences don't amount to a hill of beans.

And they're often prone to confirmation bias, like religious people who ignore when their prayers don't work while affirming the coincidences when they seem to.

The 9/11 attacks were a major "confirmation" for them, of course, but they'll ignore or deny information that doesn't fit their primitive tribalistic models of the world such as the Capitol insurrection.

for generations they have treated "others" like subhuman shit. A few years ago it became obvious whites would become a a majority minority. If the new majority, people who are not white, treat the whites the way the whites treated them, it won't be pretty for the whites and they know it.

POC won’t treat white as they were treated. Mostly, because POC understand the harm that resulted.

Of course, there are a few assholes that will do stupid stuff, but for the most part - I think that there enough grow between the whites and POC, that it won’t be an issue for the majority.

Plus, the kids (for the majority) are turning out to be more tolerance than their parents, public education is a good thing.

I live in an extremely red town, very few liberals. I learned the hard way over the years to never make statements
or give an opinion unless asked. I listen, listen, & listen to all the right wing BS and only ask pointed questions
when I'm sure I've got a home run. And yes it gets old listening to these idiots but there's few liberals around.
And I really enjoy it when my questions stun them into silence.

I get nothing but silence from the few I've asked that of.

Well I do hear the sound of ping pong balls banging off the interior of their heads.

10+ people on my crew. I am the only Democrat. Others are various forms of NRA/Republican/Libertarian wacko's Several are eastern european immigrants two are viet nam immigrants. All of them take the stance of you have to have a stronger strongman to defend you. They are adamant because they "know from experience". People that defend democracy (democrats) are "weak".One even said 'its obvious there are way more of us than you, where did the votes come from ? The NRA guy said "its not wise to piss off the people with the guns" when the issue of gun control came up. Its horrible on the blue collar working floor.

No one cares if you have 2 guns or 20 guns. Not one of them did a damn thing with their guns in any organized fashion whatsoever when their lord Trump begged them to. They all like their life styles just fine and have zero plans to do a thing but spout off.

The lone wolf guys are the scary ones, and those dimwit MI guys with the governor plan were rare. In the end, non of these big talkers are going to do anything but yap.

...in a firefight, more than 2 guns is irrelevant. Can't shoot 20 guns at a time.
They also assume no liberals have guns. That sort of oversight could he a fatal mistake in the situations they're threatening to foment.
It's mostly false bravado to hear themselves bleat.

Insurrections must be put down. Sedition must be rooted out. All who participate must be punished. It can be humane punishment, or partially symbolic, but a price must be paid for sedition, insurrection, attempted coups. We as citizens do not get to attack private or public property and sovereign institutions with impunity. If we did this in our town or neighborhood, we'd be rotting in jail and waiting to answer the civil suits, and wondering how we will pay the fines. Let's get to it, DOJ.

I think a default 3 years in prison is a good starting point for the basic charge, and then add on additional years as necessary.

Then, there is the need to recover monies for the damages caused and expensed due to their insurrection. I think that a default $25,000 is a good starting point (per person).
