I was just reading an article about the crowd who went to gawk at Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene at the Villages recently. Here's a comment from one of the attendees:

It seems to me like one of the central tenets of the anti-maskers is that they really, really like the idea of crowding into as small a space as possible, with as many people as possible, without taking any kind of Covid precautions whatsoever. Like, they're REALLY into it -- as if the real American Dream is standing in an enclosed space and getting right up in the grill of as many random unvaccinated people as possible.
With that in mind, remember how people used to smoke literally everywhere? In offices, courtrooms, on TV, on planes? And then we figured out that smoking is really bad for everybody, and now they're forced to stand in glass booths even while outside:

So I propose that we put these booths up everywhere for the anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers. You're only allowed to use them if you HAVEN'T been vaccinated and are NOT wearing a mask. The air inside is not treated or sterilized in any way. Covid-deniers can step inside and fraternize with their fellow patriots. Get in there -- the more the merrier! Extra props if you're elderly or have underlying health conditions.
Thanks to their completely glass exteriors, non-brainwashed people will be able to step inside and socially signal how unafraid and untainted by big government pro-vaccine propaganda they are. We'll call them Freedom Booths!
(The saddest thing about this obviously ridiculous and tongue-in-cheek idea is that people would probably actually use them. Hell, Tucker Carlson would likely promote them on his show.)

(58,785 posts)My currently pigtailed 80-year-old husband dropped by his haircutter, someone he's enjoyed visiting for years, to ask hopefully if she was also vaccinated now. She told him NO and that she NEVER WILL BE! My husband wasn't about to get into what would obviously be a religious-level dispute on her side, just left without a word. End of that friendship.
Sad.

(21,768 posts)I think it's that simple. They have been brainwashed for over 35 years to hate. Not sure where that goes, but that's where it is.
