Republicans Are Heading For Disaster As GOP Hid Trumps Bad Poll Numbers From House Members

"SNIP.....
House Republicans recently hid Trumps bad polling number in core House districts from their own members.
The Washington Post reported:
When staff from the National Republican Congressional Committee rose to explain the partys latest polling in core battleground districts, they left out a key finding about Trumps weakness, declining to divulge the information even when directly questioned about Trumps support by a member of Congress, according to two people familiar with what transpired.
Trumps unfavorable ratings were 15 points higher than his favorable ones in the core districts, according to the full polling results, which were later obtained by The Washington Post. Nearly twice as many voters had a strongly unfavorable view of the former president as had a strongly favorable one.
Republicans in Congress believe that the only way that they can win is to run on being Donald Trumps party, but they are not being given the full picture. Trumps presence hurts Republicans in districts that they need to win in order to take back the House.

(4,137 posts)They would just choose to not believe the polls, just like they choose to believe the election was stolen. They have been conditioned not to think rationally.

(10,599 posts)The only poll that matters is the one that ends on Election Day.
The party in power has had a bad outcome in mid-term elections over the last couple of decades. That trend will continue, until it doesn't.

(132,152 posts)just into power and so followed Trump because their careers would be over if they didn't. They know Republicanism is a con to gut the middle class and permanetly give power to rich elites like in Mexico or Russia.

Because the Republican base is going to insure every candidate they have is nothing but Trump.
But the key in those districts is a moderate candidate with plenty of monetary support.

(60,169 posts)Don't believe the Republicans' "anti-kommanist" lines they use on Fox and the local news. They WORSHIP Stalin and follow his philosophies on electoral politics closely:
Like their man, Stalin is supposed to have said: "Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything." This is why they like the results in states that used the Republican-made ES&S voting machines, and not results from the the Canadian-made (i.e. not pre-programmed) Dominion machines.

(10,173 posts)with these horrible new voting restrictions will backfire and many of the Republicans who vote by mail won't bother.
I have a cautious sense that it'll be those who they are trying to disenfranchise who will be even MORE motivated to vote.

(55,117 posts)I was watching cable news and when they said that tRump wasn't polling well I wondered why the Hell the GOP was pushing their love for the fucking moron when voters weren't in love with him any more. They reported that women in the suburbs are not fans of the former guy and likely will not be fooled again. Why is the GOP not listening to their voters? Do they want to lose?

(6,943 posts)... for all the Trump-love. He doesn't command the majority of Republican voters, but he controls a large enough faction to cause a schism in the party. The party is kissing Trump's ass to avoid that scenario. They're hoping that enough old-school Republicans will hold their noses and vote Trump again. The alternative would be that the Trumpists would desert en masse and stay home or write in their mad king. That would be a near-death blow to the Republican party, at least in the short term.
Everything Trump touches turns to shit. I'm surprised the Repubs haven't realized that yet.
