The only way to stop them is to push them back into the darkness and bogs from whence they came.

(34,108 posts)Every time I see and hear one of these people it just stops me in my tracks. How in the world does any one person think they can be this way? How does any one person ever, EVER think they are better than someone else with the right to do this?

(82,849 posts)You know this guy doesn't have any actual friends. The immediate follow on of "it's a term of endearment" tells everyone that he knew what he was saying, how it would be received, and he needed a pre-emptive out when his victims got justifiably angry with his casual prejudice.
A kid at the preschool my wife ran for many years had it down: He pushed another kid off the swing and ran away laughing and saying "I'm sorry." When he was apprehended, his defense was "But I already said I was sorry!" In his five-year-old mind, "I'm sorry" made his transgression go away. Holtorf never progressed beyond that mindset.
