I'm not sure exactly what Dr Fauci was saying. If I just read this: you are entirely, entirely and completely incorrect that the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain of function research in the Wuhan Institute, it sounds like Paul is asserting that NIH has never funded gain of function research at Wuhan Institute. I'm not sure if that's what Dr Fauci meant to say.

If it's a verbal reply, it's easy to understand how Dr Fauci could misspeak.

Fauci was very clear in what he said. Paul just kept speaking over him making the same ridiculous claims as if Fauci had just admitted to them.
