Dave Wasserman thinks the GOP can win the governor race in VA

Last edited Tue May 11, 2021, 05:52 PM - Edit history (1)

If I were Dems in VA I wouldn't sleep on this race. President Obama won Virigina by 6 in 2008 and Bob Mcdonnell the governor race won virigina the next year by 17 points, so lets not take this race for granted DNC.

I voted for McClellan, but would be happy to vote for McAuliffe in the general.

The replies to his tweet point out he has to use eight year old data to make his point.

9. Oh I agree! Ya know he's not usually like that, so surprising. McAullife is very popular

Have seen some very strong polling numbers for him.

12. The question you should be asking is why he would assume that anyone in VA needs to be told

not to "sleep" about this election? What evidence is there that anyone is doing that? Or, you could ask why he interpreted the prior election data in the odd way that he did.

If you have a better answer than that he wants a horserace, I'd be interested in hearing it.

Jennifer Rubin had harsher replies to him, as you may have seen.

...but assertions without evidence ("he wants a horse race&quot don't make compelling reading.

but I read today that he was clearly better at organization and staffing and the delegate game over Cox and the others.

The first ad I saw for McDonnell I said “We can’t beat that”. Seriously he is like the perfect candidate. If he hadn’t screwed up and if he’d had some time to decompress he could have stopped Trump from getting their nomination. Alas, so goes history.

5. Here's how you run against Youngkin, or any Republican for that matter.

Mr. Youngkin, do you believe that Joe Biden won the presidency in 2020 in a fair election? Do you support Donald Trump's assertions that the election was stolen?

Ask him those questions and he either angers his Republican base or the the non-Republican base.
