Actually, Liz Cheney is a Coward

If Liz was nearly as brave as we are hearing from the pundits, first she would leave the party that depends on lies to exist.

Second, she would join the only national party that does not depend on lies to exist.

It really is as simple as that.

But of course a Cheney cannot join us Democrats. Then she would have to admit her own father lied us into a disastrous war which killed too many of earth's humans to forgive.

Liz Cheney is as much as a "miserable failure" as her father's, Dick Cheney's and his minion Bush's, administration.

We all need to stop praising her.

she will stick around waiting for Trump to fall and she will declare victory and have the rest of them under her thumb. Don't forget her Daddy was instrumental in the other big lie that sent the country to war, which it is still in. Unfortunately they are still popular with that ilk of the party and can sway some big money. She wants to be president.

to join the Democratic Party. She is a Republican whose party no longer wants her. This is for the GOP to figure out and my hope is that this schism takes down the whole damn party. She's doing the right thing but she is still wrong on every other front.

trump and most in the Republican Party poise to our democracy by perpetuating the lie that trump won

There is nothing wrong with Supporting Liz Cheney on that one issue

We are “praising her” because she despises trump and the lies, and if you cannot recognize the distinction, that is quite sad

lies that trump won the election, and calling him out on instigating the insurrection or not, because that is what the “praise” is about

Tomorrow, Miller, trump’s last defense secretary is going before the House to fall on his sword for trump and say he is responsible for delaying calling the National guard, not trump, because he thought it would look bad

This is why Cheney’s voice will be valuable, on things like that, and I would bet no Democrat in the House is going to trash her on this

isn’t even the issue. The issue is whether to agree with her on her disdain of trump and his lies.

The fact that she has chosen to fight within her insane party doesn’t make her a coward. She is going to be torn to shreds when they most likely will vote her out from her position, and whether she even gets re-elected because of her stance is very much in doubt.

That isn’t being a coward. A coward would have done what 90% of her fellow republicans in Congress are doing, bowing before “his holiness” trump

I think some here hate her so much that they are letting it get in the way of giving credit where credit is due. It's a rather black and white way of looking at things, imo. In that view, Cheney is bad, so nothing she does could ever be good. I don't see things that way. I see some black, yes, and some white. I also see a million shades of gray.

I really liked the speech she made. I think it's great the way she laid it all on the line and called Chump and his followers out on all their election fraud crap. Was it brave? I don't know, and I don't care. What I know is that I'm glad she's doing it. She's doing the right thing in calling out Chump on his Big Lie. Is she doing the right thing for the wrong reasons? I don't know and I don't care. I'm just glad she's doing it. Was it some noble, heroic act? I don't think so, but I do think it was gutsy, and I'm glad she did it.

I don't see what the big deal is. Humans are very complex creatures. A "bad" person can do something worthwhile once in a while, and vice versa. I can recognize what she's doing in this instance and have a favorable opinion of it, without thinking she's a hero or an angel.

She should quit all right, but join with the group of "rationals" who are threatening to form a third party. There's no place for her in our party.

Taking a stand against trump on principle is to be commended.

She believes in the former principles of the GOP (low taxes, small government,, anti-abortion etc) , many of her colleagues now just believe in Trump, power and a kind of white nationalism. she should claim she is one of the true GOPers left and the others need to leave. They can join a new GOT: Grand Old Trump party

There is no need to 'praise' her to recognise the stand she has taken against the trumpers.

She's fighting the repub embrace of trump; one of the very few who have stood against their party.

She is repudiating the trump/qanon/repub fantasy that the election was stolen.

Now Joe, if, as a member of the opposing party, you cannot recognise and appreciate Cheney's stance, you really have no business trying to discuss politics in a fair manner.

I'm getting tired of internet superlatives for everything. It lapses into parody.

They're lame at best. And divisive at worst.

Fun fact: she's never going to be a Democrat. Ever. It's not on her plate. She doesn't want to flip. Not going to happen, ever. She'd retire first. It's useless fodder for unengaged leftist and rightist to blather about. It's droll.

Reality: she is working to kneecap her party, the Republicans. She'll fail in the short term, which she and all like her know. But, at least they're trying to do something. Right?

Some people need to just relax and accept reality.
