It was not sealed. It took quite a few hours for the fumes to build up, to seep through the apartment, to finally gather near the pilot light of stove. The explosion and resultant fire destroyed building and left a dozen or so families homeless. No one was injured, fortunately, for it blew in the late morning, after everyone had left for work or school.
I suspect the people in the picture here will store their hoarded petrol with their cache of toilet paper and bottled water.

(25,363 posts)It was crazy. I waited 2 hours for gas. Yes, there was hoarding, but there was a shortage due to rig shut downs.
