"Beware the man who is looking you straight in the eye. He wants to prevent you from seeing

something."

In these times, I see this statement as a warning about media/politicos/tptb, directing all of our attention to the latest distraction/crisis/bright shiny object. I always look the other direction. What the hell are they doing that they do not wish us to notice? The latest minor distraction is Liz ?Cheney and the big lie. We all know about the anti-democracy bills engulfing the country, the obstinance and defiance against the will of the electorate, all the crises we discuss here.

But what are they doing while our attention is focused elsewhere? What schemes and plots are they hatching? What we see is bad enough, but what else is there?

Sometimes, tension is just what the room needs to point out the seriousness of a situation.
